Providence Health & Services Senior Technical Program Manager in Seattle, Washington
The Digital Innovation Group (DIG) at Providence St. Joseph Health is a small but mighty product development and incubation team that is building next-gen tools that give patients convenient and easy access to healthcare virtually anywhere, anytime.
We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager in Seattle, WA to be responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of a complex cross-functional technical program with considerable impact. Your program may focus on a single product in a critical business area or you may work more broadly, managing larger initiatives that span different regions in our organization.
You perform all duties in a manner that promotes Providence mission, values, and philosophy. In all aspects, you serve as a role model for the values and mission of the organization.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Establish strategies for achieving individual or team goals which balances big-picture concerns with day-to-day activities
Create and maintain a close relationship with Digital Innovation customers, and be a trusted advisor in developing/delivering multi-system solutions for end users and/or the enterprise
Own all system launch plans, ensuring effective and timely coordination and collaboration with all internal teams, as well as stakeholders outside of Digital Innovation, including but not limited to clinical, operational, compliance, and financial areas
Define the program (mission, vision, tenets), set objectives, analyze data, drive improvements to metrics, and influence resource allocation
Gain a deep understanding of all systems and applications related to your program space, with particular focus on the patient-facing and provider-facing applications in Epic’s electronic health records system (EHR), and use this knowledge to identify and address gaps in problem understanding and/or solution design.
Actively recruit, mentor and develop others
Required qualifications for this position include:
BS in one of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or other related scientific or engineering fields.
9-10 years of relevant industry experience shipping consumer-facing and/or enterprise software and have delivered solutions end to end.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or other related scientific or engineering fields.
Track record of successfully tackling ambiguous problems, proactively identifying issues, managing risks and mitigating them, ensuring that these do not become a roadblock impeding on-time delivery of the project
Skillful at using data to make recommendations, communicating conclusions clearly and concisely to all stakeholders for rapid and effective decision-making
Able to effectively bring technical and non-technical stakeholders together for effective communication – bridging the “understanding” gap based on ability to translate tech to non-tech and vice versa
Ensures that cross-functional teams (spanning technical / non-technical stakeholders) set realistic target dates through complete understanding of all problem aspects and solution implications during the design / estimation process
Creates predictable process paths for large and/or complex efforts.
Quick learner who gains end-to-end understanding in key areas on which program/product depends.
Ability to communicate effectively across a diversity of functional areas (e.g., legal, regulatory, finance, PR, external industry groups, etc.) regarding the project’s progress, outcomes, issues, blockers, risks, risk mitigation
