Providence Health & Services Senior Project Manager in Seattle, Washington


The Digital Innovation Group (DIG) at Providence St. Joseph Health is a small but mighty product development and incubation team that is building next-gen tools that give patients convenient and easy access to healthcare virtually anywhere, anytime.

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking a senior project manager in Seattle, WA to serve as partner to the Chief of Staff in planning, managing and executing against a range of business initiatives and special projects that impact all divisions within the Digital Innovation Group.

The ideal candidate for this role has experience in managing multiple projects end-to-end while consistently and relentlessly hitting deadlines – either as a consultant or within a corporate environment. You will be working directly with the Chief of Staff and over time will take sole responsibility on a range of assignments that cut across Culture and HR, Finance, Org Design, Strategy, and Operations. You will be given significant responsibility to design, automate and scale workflow process to increase productivity and ensure a consistent rhythm of the business.

Qualified candidates will need a broad range of skills including: experience and familiarity with different project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Asana, Trello, etc); mastery of time management and work-back scheduling; impressive proficiency in excel, PowerPoint and word; clear and concise writing/communication style and a general passion for process and logistics. You are able to quickly identify root cause workflow blockers, design solutions to address these issue(s) and effectively scale and monitor them across the organization. Perhaps most importantly, you exhibit a very high degree of ownership. You can be called on at any moment to provide support on issues requiring Chief of Staff attention or decision-making.

This is a key strategic and operational role with high visibility to the digital leadership team, including the Chief Digital Officer for PSJH.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

Process Automation:

  • In conjunction with the Chief of Staff - review, oversee and execute process automation roadmap

  • Collaborate with peers across the organization to identify, design and implement additional/new process improvements

  • Employ project management software tools across the organization to increase transparency and accountability (e,g., SharePoint, Smartsheet, Jira)

  • Work closely with Chief of Staff and Sr. Executive Assistants to streamline on-boarding, off-boarding and other administrative requirements

  • Ensure introduction of new processes are documented, disseminated and adhered to

Driving Culture & Engagement:

  • Project Manage a range of high-profile special initiatives relating to Cultural Development

  • Partner with the Chief of Staff in serving as a bridge between the Digital Innovation Group and PSJH Shared Services

  • Help lead the design, content and format of the quarterly All-Hands meeting

  • Oversee the organization and execution of various community service and Mission projects

  • Serve as point person for external partnerships relating to cultural development

  • Support the Chief of Staff in execution of internal communication roadmap (e.g., Weekly All-Hands Call, Monthly Newsletter, etc.)

  • Collaborate with DIG leadership to define cultural roadmap for 2020

Strategic Operations:

  • Serve as strategic advisor to Chief of Staff by providing thought leadership and recommendations on improvements to organizational design

  • Drive a disciplined communication strategy between DIG and various PSJH stakeholders across the organization

  • Work closely with DIG leadership to enable transparent product, strategic and marketing roadmaps across the broader PSJH ecosystem

  • Partner with the Chief of Staff and Finance team to ensure consistency and continual improvement of the weekly/monthly internal business review

  • Partner with Chief of Staff to iterate on metric dashboard and metric reporting system across DIG


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience

  • 2 years work experience – ideally in a consulting role or corporate environment

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • A curious and unrelenting mind with the ability to think both strategically and creatively

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects in parallel to successful outcomes

  • Proven ability to consistently meet deadlines, prioritize effectively and successfully manage strict timetables in an ambiguous, fast moving work environment

  • Strong document creation skill set (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) with high attention to detail

  • Have strong, well-formed opinions and perspectives that you can support with insightful rationale

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
