The Digital Innovation Group (DIG) at Providence is a small but mighty product development and incubation team. We build next-gen tools that give patients convenient and easy access to health care anywhere, anytime.
DIG is both a healthcare startup and a technology/product incubator. Our team gathers market data on effective solutions in the health care space and then builds out a product line with the latest and greatest technology. When market maturity hits, DIG enables the product to spin out as its own company. It is a unique mix of venture capitalists, digital strategists, marketing acumen, product development and engineering all in one group, nestled inside one of the largest health systems. We set the pace for other health care organizations on how to conceive, engineer and launch effective health care solutions.

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager who will responsible for delivering products that meet both customer and strategic focus as well as the needs of the business. The Sr Product Manager is the subject matter expert for the market (both users and buyers) and must be extremely skilled at translating that knowledge into product design. Initially focused on telehealth serving both Providence and external customers, the scope will expand as additional digital services are offered.
Successful caregivers in this role provide: product innovation, business management, collaborating with designers and developers and partnering with other resources/experts to deliver products which reflect the voice of the customer. They demonstrate the ability to maneuver to assure trade-offs on functions and features exceed customer needs.
The Sr Product Manager is responsible for planning, developing and executing the strategy for assigned business and/or clinical products. This responsibility extends from increasing the Triple Aim value of existing products to defining and developing new ones. The individual serves as the internal and external expert for the product offering(s) they manage, and has a deep knowledge of the market and customer environment as well as the internal processes and teams needed in developing, implementing and supporting the product.
The Sr Product Manager leads all phases of the product development cycle from idea through value proposition, design, development, pilot, launch and evaluation/measurement. Sr Product managers understand and engage all organizational functions involved with the product for it to be successful, working with cross-functional team(s) that includes members from clinical delivery, operations, finance, sales, marketing, contracting, legal, regulatory and IS. The Sr Product Manager possesses a unique blend of business and technical savvy, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Gathers and specifies product requirements for current and future offerings by conducting market and competitive research supported by interacting directly with customers (consumers, payers, employers, providers, healthcare community stakeholders and other market influencers) that will drive the development and/or improvement of products. Author business cases, white papers, use cases, process flows, and wireframes. Support testing of product with Product Development and Operations.
Establish the product’s goals and identify/define metrics to show impact and deliver success.
Research products and identify new opportunities for PH&S to innovate through technology.
Effectively manage expectations and resolve conflicts that balance customer and company needs.
Understands and anticipates market trends and demands/limitations, customer reactions and buying pattern changes, and becomes the expert on identifying real market problems by interviewing and observing consumers/patients and caregivers in their environments.
Prioritizes product requirements in keeping with organizational priorities to ensure completion to a schedule.
Develops the positioning and value proposition for existing and new products, including features, benefits and competitive differentiators.
Ensures organizational readiness, including training and support materials, when introducing new or enhanced products.
Manage epic relationship and product needs for telehealth (builds, requirements, training, on-going operations).
Document system standard in collaboration with Product Development team.
Required qualifications for this position include:
7 years product management/development or equivalent experience and a record of successful product delivery, with a minimum of 2 new products (or substantial redesigns/upgrades) launched during this timeframe.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience defining and documenting product requirements for development teams, and a proven track record of growing and maturing products with measurable KPI improvements
Ability to work independently under tight deadlines, while maintaining excellent written and oral communication
Empathetic. You can listen to users, understand their key problems and develop intuitive solutions to these problems
Skilled cross-team collaboration. Work with engineers, designers, analysts, marketers and executives to make decisions and build a roadmap.
Ability to inspire others, including demonstrated experience leading strong teams
