Providence Health & Services Senior Manager Software Engineering, Back End in Seattle, Washington


The Digital Innovation Group (DIG) at Providence St. Joseph Health is a small but mighty product development and incubation team that is building next-gen tools that give patients convenient and easy access to healthcare virtually anywhere, anytime.

We are seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering, Back End in Seattle, WA to act as the anchor for building a top-tier software organization that will transform health care through technology that is smart, sophisticated, user-centric, and cool. In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Build and deliver scalable, extensible complex distributed systems.

  • Develop the long-term strategy for technology platforms that translate into an achievable roadmap.

  • Deliver products that delight customers while managing the health of the code base through continuous refactoring and management of technical debt.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent education and work experience

  • 12 years building complex, reliable and scalable software and/or hardware products and solutions

  • 3 years in a managerial capacity, preferably at having led both ICs and Managers

  • Hands-on experience leading code reviews and deep-dive designs

  • Experience with hardware (OEMs, Supply Chain, etc.) or video (VoIP, A/V, Web RTC, video capabilities) strongly preferred
