Providence Health & Services Principal Product Manager in Seattle, Washington
The Digital Innovation Group (DIG) at Providence St. Joseph Health is a small but mighty product development and incubation team that is building next-gen tools that give patients convenient and easy access to healthcare virtually anywhere, anytime.
We are looking for a Principal Product Manager in Seattle , WA to have end to end responsibility for a strategic initiative. The position reports to the Vice President of Digital Products and must establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff at all levels in Providence Strategic and Management Services (PSMS), as well as with other Providence Health & Services staff, the Providence Health Plan, vendors, agents, etc.
Responsibilities for this position include :
Build and maintain relationships with a large network of technical and non-technical stakeholders in the organization, bringing your curiosity and intelligence to understand their world, and identify hard problems appropriate for digital solutions
Manage the Technical Program Management team members in an inspirational manner that ensures their success. Comprehensive performance management of the team including hiring, training, active coaching and setting aggressive and realistic objectives.
Work closely with engineering leadership to engage, motivate, and lead the team towards successful product delivery. Work closely with engineering across the product lifecycle to document the user journeys in collaboration with the Product Management and Design team, evaluate alternative product and technical solutions to build and operate the platform. Ensure engineering team is delivering fixes and features that are prioritized by the Product team. In partnership with Engineering, you provide combined leadership in pushing and maintaining agile development best practices.
Manage planning, prioritization, specification, acceptance and education processes for all products and product features. Develop, present and defend the business case and product feature set for new project proposals.
Partner with Product Management, Design, and engineering leadership to identify opportunities and quantify the business case for new projects. Working with multiple stakeholders, prioritize product initiatives focused on growth, usage, and revenue.
Understand and translate market requirements with substantiated customer/market feedback to support the product definition plus internal alignment on engineering team capabilities.
Drive experimentation (i.e. A/B testing): identify areas for improvements, define methodology and technical requirements and drive experiments to optimize testing platform.
Evaluate complementary internal and 3rd party products for existing market fit, investment required, opportunity cost, and potential revenue stream to determine priority within existing roadmap.
Required qualifications for this position include :
12 years’ experience of relevant industry experience (product/program management, product planning/strategy), shipping consumer facing and/or enterprise software, and have delivered solutions end-to-end.

Track record of effective communication with leaders up to 3 levels above and ability to present options and their inherent tradeoffs so that decisions can be made quickly and effectively
Skillful at building consensus and making thoughtful, data-driven recommendations for project / program prioritization, solution design, issue management, risk identification and mitigation
Must possess excellent business judgment, strong written and oral communication skills, and a practical, common sense approach to getting things done.
Masterful at cross-functional communication to ensure all non-technical stakeholders have everything needed to collaborate effectively with technical teams
Proven “radar” for recognizing when a given problem or solution needs additional guidance or knowledge available from other technical or non-technical experts in the organization
Strong experience delivering solutions that delight customers and stakeholders and deliver on the intended value proposition; similarly, experience with helping stakeholders understand when / why a given solution will not deliver the value / results envisioned.
Recognized thought leader with regard to program management best practices, staying abreast of evolving methodologies in other organizations and the industry as a whole, and bringing this awareness / knowledge to the groups you work with
Active involvement with mentoring product managers and technical program managers at all levels, participating in performance reviews and promotion decisions
