Providence Health & Services Executive Director of Website Experience in Seattle, Washington
The Digital Innovation Group (DIG) at Providence Health & Services is a small but mighty product development and incubation team that is building next-gen tools that give patients convenient and easy access to healthcare virtually anywhere, anytime.
We are seeking an Executive Director for Website Experience in Seattle, WA to lead the strategic development, implementation and maintenance of our consumer facing websites. This position serves as the product expert for web tools and services and is the organization’s evangelist for website strategy and excellence in the online consumerexperiences. This position is responsible the development of vision, goals and strategies to support all web activities, working collaboratively with IT, marketing and communication, operations, business/strategy development and clinical teams on needs analysis, business case development, design and implementation of new products, websites, enhancements and online functionality. Success in this position requires understanding of web technology and product management processes. In addition, the chosen leader must have a passion for excellent user experiences aligned with the Providence brand, value innovation and new thinking, demonstrate flexibility, perseverance, and have the ability to make change happen. The successful candidate will also have the ability to build strong relationships with his/her functional peers, and will be an outstanding communicator capable of articulating a compelling vision and driving projects to successful execution.
This position works closely with key business leaders to prioritize projects, maximize the effectiveness of existing web technologies and drive best practices and standards to achieve shared organizational goals. The Executive Director, Websites will also build and lead appropriate governance structures for the consumer website and intranet programs and will develop and lead a team of web, product and technology professionals who support and foster the Mission and the strategic goals of Providence.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Align system vision, goals and strategic initiatives with effective digital products and online strategies to achieve measurable outcomes of success. Work cross-functionally using the matrix of the organization to ensure the successful development and launch of digital initiatives, ensuring operational needs are identified and met to ensure successful execution.
Monitor developing web trends, make recommendations, look for integration opportunities for content, strategic partners, and technology. Develop and manage a systematic approach to monitoring relevant trends that could affect the system’s web strategy.
Direct development and advancement of all web channels working collaboratively with portal and product owners to ensure each channel meets the needs of the online user while also presenting a cohesive organizational message/brand for Providence. Allocate resources and resolve prioritization conflicts. Align and coordinate strategies with other digital services teams as well as other pillars within marketing and communication.
Set requirements for the collection and analysis of data for tools and sites; monitor performance metrics, working with product managers and analytics team in building requirements and establishing KPIs for initiatives. Direct product, market, best practices, and customer research to qualify program development ideas and quantify business opportunities.
Ensure the coordination of all website activities and establish the product roadmap for advancement of Providence’s websites portfolio. Ensure cross-organization collaboration of digital product management and web operations across the system, focusing on efforts to unify and standardize products and services and leverage existing knowledge and resources for the good of all regions.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Marketing or Business or equivalent education/experience.
Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Marketing or Business or equivalent education/experience.
12 years’ experience in a combination of website management, digital strategy, product management and user experience design.
10 years of experience in progressive senior management positions including building and leading high performing teams.
7 years utilizing web technologies and supporting architectures and platforms.
