RN - PHRH DAY SURGERY at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital located in the beautiful Columbia Gorge. This is a 0.9 FTE position that typically works (3) three 12-hour day shift on weekends and weekdays.

Essential Functions in this role
• Provides for a comprehensive patient assessment such as height, weight, BMI, vital signs.
• Develops and implements an individualized plan of care which reflects the standard of care (example AHA, ACC).
• Provides and documents necessary patient/family education in support of interdisciplinary treatment plan.
• Develops the discharge plan of care; locates past medical information, notifies appropriate providers.
• Contact peri-operative patients to initiate interviews based on anesthesia guidelines; interpret results; and notify appropriate providers using clinical judgment.
• Collect Pre-operative data and collaborate with other departments such as Lab, EKG, Pharmacy, RT, Rehab, etc., to coordinate patient care.
• Monitors patient condition, notes change in status, utilizes judgment and take appropriate action; Consults with appropriate care providers.
• Participates in the Quality Improvement process as defined in the department QA plan.
• Accurately and concisely documents patient care activities and information.
• Provides quality care in an efficient, cost effective manner.
• Supports and assists with orientation of new staff and/or students.
• Demonstrates advancement of professional nursing practice through continuing education.
• Demonstrates advancement of professional nursing practice through unit/department activities.
Upon hire: Oregon Registered Nurse License
Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
2 years of experience
Current or Previous PACU experience
National Certifications: CPAN or CAPA
ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire
